The Once-a-Year Viking Kitchen Check
Edmonds kitchens often hold a Viking range, refrigerator and dishwasher bought together, and a single morning a year catches the slow faults in all of them before a holiday does.

Oven
Put a thermometer on the centre rack, set 350°F and average several heating cycles, then repeat at a second setting, as the oven calibration entry sets out. While it cycles, look at the door gasket without cleaning, wetting or moving it, which Viking’s guide forbids, and slide each rack in and out.
Cooktop
Seat each burner cap flat and light every burner in turn. Anything that clicks without lighting goes to a visit.
Refrigerator
Vacuum the condenser coils if they show dust, run the paper test round both door gaskets, and check the date on the water filter; the Condenser coils, Door gaskets and Water filter entries cover each step.
Dishwasher
Brush the filters, check each spray arm spins and its holes are open, and look at a glass for spots or a blue trace, as the Filters and spray arms and Rinse aid entries describe.

- Starting with the oven lets it preheat and cycle while you work through the rest, and ending at the dishwasher means the filters come out after its last load.
